Dr Edina Sinanovic  – Senior Researcher / Senior Lecturer

I am a Senior Researcher / Senior Lecturer in Health Economics with 13 years of research and teaching experience. I have been working at the Health Economics Unit since 1997. I have a PhD from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Research interests: economic evaluation, the economics of tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS programmes, scaling up health interventions, public-private partnerships in health systems, and more recently economic considerations in vaccination.

Current research projects: (1) The cost of scaling up the integrated cervical cancer prevention programme in South Africa by analysing future resource requirements for adding the human papilloma virus vaccine to the existing screening programme. (2) Economic analysis of an increased access to TB and HIV diagnosis, treatment and adherence support.

Current teaching:
I supervise PhD and masters students, and regularly teach health economics at postgraduate level. I also coordinate the PhD in health economics programmes.
