
Dr Edina Sinanovic received her BSc in Economics from the University of Zagreb (Croatia), a Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from the Maastricht School of Management (the Netherlands), a Masters in Health Economics from the University of Cape Town (South Africa), and a PhD in Health Economics from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK). She has been working at the Health Economics Unit since 1997. She has led and conducted economic evaluations in the areas of TB, TB/HIV, cervical cancer and family planning.
Research interests: economic evaluation, especially in relation to tuberculosis control and TB/HIV integration, public-private partnerships in health systems, and more recently economic considerations in vaccination.
Current research projects: Cost-effectiveness of GeneXpert MTB/RIF for diagnosis of tuberculosis; economic analysis of an increased access to TB and HIV services.
