Collection of chapters on health care financing

HEU researchers (Di Mcintyre, John Ataguba and James Akazili) recently completed a chapter contribution that outlines some of the challenges faced when carrying out a financing benefit incidence in Ghana, Tanzania and SA and illustrates how innovative techniques were used to overcome data weaknesses in these settings. The chapter draws on the work of SHIELD – HEU’s collaborative project that looks at strategies for health insurance in less developed countries.

The chapter forms part of the a volume of work that aims to draw together the best conceptual and applied research to reflect on the structure of the system for financing health care and policy implications for strengthening health financing in developing countries. Details below.
