The SHIELD (Strategies for Health Insurance for Equity in Less Developed Countries) project has produced a set of information sheets. SHIELD aims to critically evaluate existing inequities in health systems and to examine the extent to which insurance (mechanisms to provide financial protection) can address these inequities in Ghana, South Africa and Tanzania.
