The People’s Health Movement (global secretariat and South Africa) held a discussion on 29th July 2009 on the National Health Insurance (NHI), which was followed by short inputs on a few key priority global programmes of the People’s Health Movement; the seminar was convened in the UCT Health Sciences Faculty. HEU professor and SA Research chair of “Health and Wealth”, Di Mcintyre gave a presentation on ‘Financing of health and the NHI’. This was followed by a presentation from David Sanders (School of Public Health, UWC, and PHM), titled ‘Human resource requirements’.
