Seminar: Offering postgrad courses with an African orientation

posted on 4 April, 2011 under Latest News, News

This week sees the participation of the HEU in a seminar ‘designed to support UCT’s Afropolitan goal and to contribute to its research culture’. Professor Di McIntyre was invited to participate in a panel discussion on 6 April that is aiming to discuss the topic of ‘teaching postgraduate courses on and for Africa’. Other panel participants include representatives from Political Studies and UCT’s graduate school of business.

The seminar is part of the Programme for the  Enhancement of Research Capacity and is intended for staff who would like to offer postgrad courses with an African orientation.

The HEU has been training health economists from other African countries for over a decade and also started a network to build African capacity to introduce similar courses in their own countries.
